Loving and surfing the tech that is bringing us into the future.
While driving on the freeway with Autopilot engaged, I now avoid changing lanes near trucks. Autopilot tends to get spooked, when it is in the middle of changing lanes near a semi truck (collectively traveling at about 65 mph).
It is state law (Oregon) to keep space cushions around all vehicles at all times. Granted, this is not technically possible to do 100% of the time; but it does lead us to try to maintain more optimally safe positioning around vehicles.
Autopilot needs to keep close to the left lane markers on freeways, especially when a right-side lane entrance comes up. At the end of the lane entrance merger, the lane markers disappear (on the right of the Tesla).
Add a family of functions for controlling the car's AC: like a home thermostat, specifically for whenever the car is in Park mode. This "parked car" thermostat functionality would keep the vehicle within a set of temperature limits.
Add a settings button that locks "Keep Climate On" in "on" mode, under all situations, unless the battery reaches 20%. Currently we have to remember to always toggle "Keep Climate On" whenever we park.
Add a physical resting spot for the driver's right foot, just like there is for the driver's left foot. The resting spot could be just to the right of the accelerator, where the lower center console resides, in the footwell.
The current sun visors for the 2020 Model X are nice and versatile. However, they cannot cover the back 25% of the driver's side window. Also they only fold down a small amount leaving about half of the driver's side lower window exposed to the driver.
When the driver approaches the Model X, and the vehicle auto-unlocks with the fob nearing the vehicle, the last audio source auto-turns on (sometimes). It would be nice to have a toggle in the car's settings to always keep the vehicle's audio mute when passively auto-unlocking the car.
For the Model 3, it would be nice to have a more expanded 3rd-person-view (or birds-eye-view) around the vehicle. It would be especially helpful for seeing how close vehicles are to the blind spots as well as behind the vehicle.
Add a far reaching specialized wifi network surrounding the Tesla Service Centers, where Tesla drivers could park nearby and immediately download their latest OTA updates.
Add a key simple software security feature for our Model 3: "PIN to Open Glovebox."
This would operate just like the "PIN to Drive" security feature.
I'm not sure if this is a bug: our Model X AC settings keep resetting to defaults after we park our car.
Allow the tablet computer's AC controls to stay in view permanently, just like with camera, navigation, etc.
Add the steering wheel heater button to the bottom row of the tablet computer (preferably on the left half of the screen). It is annoying to have to hunt for the steering wheel heater button within the hidden AC controls, especially while driving.
Add the old arcade game, "Super Cobra," to the ever-growing gaming options inside the tablet computer's Entertainment category. The game was originally released in 1981 by Konami, as a side scrolling helicopter battle game.
Add driver side and passenger side dual-temperature controls for future Model X vehicles.
Model 3 vehicles already incorporate dual-temperature controls. Let's have the ever-improving Model X keep up with the Model 3 AC temperature controls.
Set doors to auto-lock when the vehicle is put into either Drive or Reverse gears. Due to local safety concerns, we are constantly tapping on the "lock" symbol on the tablet computer, when we enter our car, as the vehicle only auto-locks after driving a certain speed.
Allow user to select lower fan speed, while the biohazard filter is turned on. Presently, the biohazard function only operates at fan speed level 10 (max), which makes it very uncomfortable after about 15 seconds.
